LIVING ARCHITECTURE
in the center of Berlin
Grandeur of history and ease of being: this is the lifestyle feeling on Karl-Marx-Allee. Conceived as a boulevard with imperial splendour in the midst of Berlin's war ruins, the former Stalinallee is nowadays a place where big city life, a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere and new creative culture meet on a unique architectural stage. The apartment – KAMA.103A – is located in one of the listed Stalin buildings in the first row on the avenue and offers a panoramic view of the Rose Garden and Frankfurter Tor.
—
The building is located very centrally within walking distance of Alexanderplatz, Ostbahnhof, Warschauer Straße and the Eastside Gallery on the Spree river. The U5 underground line (Weberwiese station) right outside the front door takes you directly to the heart of Berlin via the stations Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Unter den Linden, Friedrichstraße, Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Central Station.
—
On the boulevard and in the neighbouring “Kieze” (traditional districts) in Friedrichshain-Mitte – such as Boxhagener Platz, Petersburger Platz and Simon-Dach-Straße – there are countless cafés, restaurants, bookshops, boutiques, galleries and commodity shops. Life here is characterised by a relaxed, multicultural mix of academics, artists and creatives, students, many newcomers from all over the world and ‘real Berliners’.
—
Despite the urban location, you live in the green. In addition to Volkspark Friedrichshain, one of Berlin's largest and most popular public parks, you can also spend time relaxing in the Rose Rarden, the newly created Auerpark and the Weberwiese with its Engelbecken, all of which are right in front of the building.

IINTERIOR & DESIGN
—
KAMA.103A has been home in Berlin for many years to its owners, Joachim Trezib, an architectural historian, and his wife Chaia, and has been carefully restored by them to its current, fully renovated condition, with a great deal of love and stylistic intuition for the historical character of the original ‘workers’ palace’. Quality and style run through the light-flooded rooms down to the last detail. All the walls have been filled and painted (no wallpaper), the flooring is a light grey cork linoleum flooring that is in keeping with the listed building and pleasantly warm underfoot, window handles, switches and sockets are modern reproductions that are true to the era, and the original doors have been preserved and restored.
—
Not least thanks to the customised furnishings, the couple have created a place to feel at home. Unique pieces collected on flea market tours around Berlin, travelling trouvailles – such as the two Thonet cantilever chairs – and heirlooms like the beautiful card index cabinet in the entrance hall, carefully restored midcentury classics and high-quality contemporary designer furniture combine to create a charmingly varied yet harmonious interior design. Selected objects, lights and works of art complete the ensemble and ensure a very special living experience.
